Bunkei Sono
Born in 1936, Kyoto. Chirographer and Chief priest of Tofukuji minor temple, Shougon-zen-in, since 2000. Trained as a zen monk in Tokugen-zen-in. Chief priest of Tofukuji minor temple, Tentoku-zen-in, from 1964 to 1999. Exhibited his work at many calligraphy exhibitions.
Tentoku-zen-in temple
Tentoku-zen-in is famous for the various kinds of seasonal flowers and moss. One of the minor temples of Tofukuji Tofukuji is the head temple of the Rinzai sect of Zen Buddhism Kyoto.
